Midsummer Place’s Mother’s Day Market
If you were looking for something a bit more unique for your mum this Mothering Sunday then you might not head to a shopping centre. However, Midsummer Place is hosting a pop-up market with some lovely personal products in honour of Mother’s Day.
From 14th March right up to the 27th, the pop-up market will have some stalls you might recognise from the Christmas market, and some new ones too. Products will include soaps, candles, cheeses, fudge, jewellery, personalised gifts and much more. Somewhere in the market, there could be the perfect gift to make your mum smile this Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day Box Card Making
Red Poppies Studio in Leighton Buzzard are hosting their popular Box Card Workshop again where they’ll be guiding you through how to create a Mother’s Day box card. For £25 per person, you will be given all you need for your creation and will be taught this unique craft by an expert.

Evenly Wood Garden Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea
Afternoon Tea is a lovely Mother’s Day tradition and we think Evenly Wood Garden is an idyllic setting. It is 30 minutes away from Milton Keynes but there you’ll walk through 60-acres of woodland garden. With a vast collection of plants, trees and emerging bulbs (hopefully by the end of March) a wander through this tended area of the Northamptonshire countryside is a great way to build up an appetite.
At 2.30 pm you’ll be seated for a delicious assortment of sandwiches, quiches, scones and sweet treats accompanied by tea, coffee or elderflower lemonade. This is an ideal day out for an adult son or daughter and mum or for a family with young children, priced at £16.50 for adults and £8.50 for children. Find out more.
Bletchley Park Afternoon Tea
If you’re less inclined to bank on good weather then Bletchley Park might be a preferable option for afternoon tea. Entry is included in your ticket price so you’ll get to explore the history of Britain’s legendary codebreakers.
The afternoon tea is elevated with the sounds of vocalist Alison Cater as you dine, enjoying the traditional finger sandwiches, scones and sweet delights. You may eat at 12 pm or 2 pm and there’s also a glass of Prosecco for all over 18s and a little gift to take away for the mums. Tickets are £45 per adult, £35.00 for over 12s and £17.50 for under 12s. Bletchley’s afternoon tea promises not only a lovely traditional dining experience but also a chance to spend the day at Bletchley Park which offers plenty of intrigue and interactive activities for all ages.
Mother’s Day Bottomless Brunch
Brunch is fast becoming as much a weekend tradition as the classic roast dinner. Especially as a meal to have out. Brunch is generally a bit more lively and is a great start to the day. As it gets lighter, and hopefully warmer, in March, brunch could be the perfect option for your mother’s day meal. And, the Slug & Lettuce is making it bottomless.
What is a bottomless brunch? This is when you decide on your drink of choice and receive endless refills for the 2-hour slot booking. You’ll be amazed at how much prosecco it’s possible to get through in 2 hours – or maybe you won’t!
From 11 am bottomless brunch is available as a Mother’s Day celebration on Mothering Sunday and is priced at £30 per person (remember that’s all your drink top-ups included). The menu includes all the usual suspects – full English, smashed avocado, eggs florentine, pancakes and a range of other breakfast classics. For drinks, you may enjoy Prosecco, Mimosas, Bloody Marys, beer, Aperol Spritz or soft drink alternatives. Bottomless brunch is a really fun way to celebrate Mother’s Day in Milton Keynes and the Slug & Lettuce have been hosting these brunches for some time so they know what they’re doing.
However you choose to spend Mother’s Day we hope you and the amazing women in your life have a wonderful day!
