6 Cleaning Jobs You Can Do in <5 Minutes | Chandler’s Ford
Always feel like you don’t have time for your household chores? We’re here to help you get more done in those short moments you have to spare!
Our house cleaners in Chandler’s Ford know how challenging it can be to stay on top of your cleaning jobs. But by taking a ‘little and often’ approach, you can slowly but surely make a dent in the mess to keep your house clean and tidy.
With that in mind, here are six easy but impactful cleaning jobs you can do in five minutes or less…
1. Polish your mirrors
Mirrors are one of the first things that tend to gather noticeable dust, oils and water stains over the week. Fortunately, getting them clean again is the work of a minute!
Simply spray the surface with a little glass cleaner and buff it away with a soft, dry cloth or paper towel. Try not to use too much product, as this can leave streaks. If your mirror is particularly dusty, give it a quick wipe before spraying it to make the job easier.
2. Empty your dishwasher
It’s one of those cleaning jobs that we all love to put off. But emptying your dishwasher when it’s finished will help you prevent dishes from piling up (and probably save you a couple of arguments!).
If you happen to hear the tell-tale ‘beep’ that tells you the cycle is finished, we recommend opening the door to let steam escape and speed up the drying process. That way, you won’t have to dry off as many items before storing them.
3. Load the washing machine
This is another one of those cleaning jobs that feels like the start of a huge task. We get it! But leaving your laundry to accumulate will only make the task harder in the end.
Start the process now by popping a load in the drum. Not going to be around to unload it in a few hours? Check to see if your machine has a timer so you can set it to run at a more convenient time.
4. Clean your microwave
Microwaves are small with removable parts that are usually easy to clean. Next time you’re waiting for the kettle to boil, use a damp cloth and antibacterial spray to wipe the inside and outside.
Don’t forget to take out the glass plate and give that a quick sponge, too!
5. Scrub the sink
Try to think of your kitchen sink as an extra dish that needs cleaning and looking after. Once a week, use a sponge and dish soap to give it a scrub. Add some baking soda to gently exfoliate the surface and remove stains.
Our cleaning experts suggest leaving drain strainers in a solution of dish soap and hot water for a while, then scrubbing them clean to avoid clogs. You can also pour some baking soda and vinegar down the drain to help unblock your pipes without chemicals!
6. Sweep hard floors
Our floors often show the most obvious signs of wear and tear when we’ve been neglecting our cleaning jobs. Yet the prospect of vacuuming and mopping or steam-cleaning in every room can be a little overwhelming. But what about a quick sweep?
Taking a broom to catch the most noticeable bits of debris on hard floors and rugs is a small act that can make a big difference.
Of course, if you’d prefer to recruit some extra hands to keep your home in pristine condition, we’re always here to help.
