5 Summer Holiday Activities for Families in Alton

The school summer holidays are just around the corner. Have you thought about how you’ll entertain your little ones?

Six weeks is a long time in a child’s life — and a long time to juggle work and play within your family. So, it’s always great to have a handful of ready-made ideas (ones that don’t require too much planning) up your sleeve.

At Haus Maids, we’re more than just house cleaners; we’re active members of the communities where we operate. That’s why we’ve compiled a selection of affordable, fun and family-friendly summer holiday activities happening in and around Alton this summer — so you don’t have to!

Whether you’re looking for something to do together or that the kids can enjoy on their own, keep reading to find out what’s going on near you…

  1. The Wind in the Willows Story Trail

Hosted by Gilbert White’s House & Gardens in Selborne, this is the perfect activity for children who want to discover the whimsical characters from Kenneth Grahame’s ‘The Wind in the Willows’ in the great outdoors.

The organisers will provide your little ones with a map and journey stick before sending them on their way to complete different activities and find Ratty, Mole, Toad and Badger in the grounds.

This family-friendly museum is a great laugh and perfect for curious children. It features a range of activities and exhibitions, including drop-in ‘make and take’ sessions.
