Haus Maids Winchester has become the newest sponsor of the local Winchester Rugby Football Club, after being their neighbour business for the last 2 years. Our company is always searching for ways to give back to the local community and encourage the engagement of different generations in a safe and active environment, where they can develop their competitive and team spirit.
The Winchester RFC was founded in 1929, when 17 enthusiasts established the club as they use to meet in Kart & Horses before their games against local rivals. The 70’s was a culminating success as Hampshire Shield won against Jersey in 1975 which allowed the playing membership to grow significantly and form 4 teams as well as the Colts team fed by local schools. By the 80’s the club got consolidated and in the 90’s several members decided it was the right time to put the club on the rugby map. The club’s colours were chosen just by buying t-shirts from the only local shop – amber and black, which remained the chosen palette.
The club also believes that a successful rugby club is more than just victorious on the pitch, as the players and coaches are a vital part, but so are the number of volunteers who work towards the club’s foundation behind the scenes. You can learn more about the club, teams and their events at and also how to become a volunteer or join the club.
Haus Maids is delighted to have the opportunity to support and work together with the club. Haus Maids Winchester director Victoria Green commented ‘’Some of our clients we provide domestic cleaning services to are also Rugby enthusiasts and regularly support their local team, bringing all ages of the community together for social and sporting opportunities.
We hope that our sponsorship and support will help with the playing and clubhouse facilities in order to keep providing sporting opportunities for our residents and look forward to supporting the club over the coming seasons”
