Always strip your bed 

Sometimes, the best cleaning tips are the simple ones! Stripping, washing and remaking a bed is quite a time-consuming task. Taking care of one of the steps can make life a little easier for whoever comes to clean up after your stay. Pile your bed linens in one place or ask if you can pop anything in the wash before you leave.  

Don’t forget your used towels, too! Often, it’s easier to leave damp towels in the bath or shower to prevent getting the mattress wet. 

Restock as you go 

Used the last of the loo roll? Running out of soap? Tissue box almost empty? Let your host know. There’s nothing more annoying than going to use something only to discover it’s run out. So, make yourself useful by asking where spares are kept or running out to replenish supplies on your day of departure.  

Clean up after yourself 

Our home cleaning tips usually include some sort of decluttering, and this doesn’t change when you’re staying in someone else’s space. Emptying bins, washing up used dishes and making sure you’ve picked up all your belongings will reduce the workload for your hosts and help you keep things neat.
